The proposal outlines an 18-month 'Proof-of-Concept' program, GoalTenders™, targeting 240 individuals with sickle cell traits. It aims to encourage awareness, resilience, and self-reliance through an inclusive leadership paradigm, empowering graduates to become facilitators and create a sustainable impact in sickle cell communities.

Program Objectives: The proposal aims to implement an 18-month 'Proof-of-Concept' program for 240 individuals with sickle cell traits or disease, focusing on cultivating awareness beyond sickle cell identity, fostering personal growth and resilience, and enhancing foundational skill sets for greater self-reliance.

Empirical Approach: The program, known as GoalTenders™, adopts an inclusive leadership paradigm shift and offers a curriculum designed to bring about a mental shift towards leadership through inclusion. The first six months focus on awakening awareness, mastering foundational skills, and introducing a leadership paradigm shift, while the subsequent months involve ongoing review, certification for facilitators, and community-building.

Impact and Sustainability: Graduates demonstrating mastery of the curriculum have the opportunity to pursue compensated careers as instructors, encouraging  a sustainable model for spreading the life-changing program within sickle cell-afflicted communities, aiming to address mental health challenges and promote self-reliance.
